Rugby Australia have set their sights on boom South Sydney rookie Tallis Duncan as their next target. Having already signed Roosters flyer Joseph Suaali'i, RA is determined to eat into the NRL's ranks and Duncan is seen as one of league's next big things. RA missed out on Souths lock Cameron Murray but has let Duncan's family know that the 21-year-old is on their hit list. Duncan has been among Souths' best players in recent weeks, when they have struggled for form, and is slowly but surely working towards a regular spot in the club's top 17. Named after legendary hit man Gorden Tallis by his league-obsessed dad, the young forward made his top grade debut in round 13 and has proved right up to NRL standard. He is signed until the end of the 2025 season but if the rugby union offer is too good to refuse, Duncan could simply 'retire' from league and start his career anew in the 15-a-side code.
