Secret weapon in Taafe pursuit

It wasn't Phil Gould or Cameron Ciraldo who proved the decisive factor in Blake Taaffe joining the Bulldogs from Souths for 2024. Taaffe agreed to a two-year deal with the Doggies after a chat with his former NSW Under 19 State of Origin team-mate Matt Burton. The pair were dynamic together in the halves as the Blues won the series against Queensland as teenagers and Burton is keen to renew the partnership. With Lachlan Ilias' form running hot and cold this season, plenty of Bunnies fans aren't happy that Taaffe has been lost to the club. The Bulldogs have sorely lacked a quality halfback this season and Taaffe, who has been playing fullback for Souths in the NSW Cup for long periods this season, may just prove to be their new main man.
