The Canterbury Bulldogs have axed outside back Corey Allan with a year left to run on his contract.Allan signed a three-year deal with the Bulldogs in 2021 after South Sydney granted the former Maroons star an early release from his contract.The 24-year-old has played 21 games in the blue and white, however only managed three matches this season.He spent the remainder of the year playing in the NSW Cup or sidelined with a groin injury.All three of Allan's games came after the departure of ex-mentor Trent Barrett, and with his release, he now becomes the first player to be axed since new coach Cameron Ciraldo took over the top job."Corey Allan has been released from the final year of his contract with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, effective immediately," the club said in a statement."We thank Corey for his two years of service to the Bulldogs and wish him all the best for the future."According to 9News sports reporter Danny Weidler, Allen is expected to land at the Sydney Roosters.Allan previously played 29 NRL games for the Rabbitohs, spending time on both the wing and at fullback.His time included a stint replacing an injured Latrell Mitchell during his breakout 2020 season.
