After signing a mega contract extension that will keep him at the Broncos until 2029, Ezra Mam has urged the club to extend halves partner Adam Reynolds' contract for as long as possible. Mam's huge five-year deal will reportedly see the 21-year-old receive upwards of $4 million, with the long-term futures of Reece Walsh and Reynolds Brisbane's next focus. The Broncos confirmed Mam's extension, releasing a statement on Tuesday morning, accompanied by a social media post captioned: "He's our Mam. Ezra extends until 2029." Initial reports suggested the deal for Mam was worth around $3 million dollars but The Courier Mail reports the contract is worth more than $4 million. The deal will see the 21-year-old's salary triple as he was earning just $250,000 a year in his breakout 2023 season. Fresh off securing a new contract, Mam has urged his side to lock down club veteran Reynolds, who the explosive five-eighth sees as a crucial player in the club's hunt for its first premiership since 2006. Reports suggest Reynolds is close to signing on the dotted line for another season but Mam hopes he can pen a deal for even longer.

Brisbane has been given a major boost heading into the NRL season, with electric playmaker Ezra Mam re-signing with the club until the end of 2029. The five-eighth had been one of the most in-demand players throughout the off-season, with his stellar hat-trick performance in last year's agonising grand final loss to Penrith announcing him as one of the competition's brightest young stars.  Mam had been linked with a potential move to the Dolphins, but has opted to knock back the advancements of the NRL's newest club and commit to the Broncos long-term, inking a five-year extension announced on Tuesday morning by the club. At 21 years of age, Mam now has the security and ability to maintain Brisbane's premiership window for the next half a decade. "Ezra is a born-and-bred Bronco and it's great that he is staying where he belongs," Broncos coach Kevin Walters said. "He is an exciting player but he also likes to get in there and do the tough stuff and to do what needs to be done for his team. "We have only scratched the surface on what Ez can do – we'll keep on working with him to improve his game and I can't wait to see what we can achieve together over the years ahead." Mam has scored 24 tries in 36 first grade appearances to date, with his fleet-footedness and blistering speed causing headaches for opposition defences. The talented Ipswich product has been earmarked to become Brisbane's long-term halfback, with captain Adam Reynolds likely to retire by the end of 2025. He was recently named in Queensland's extended squad for the State of Origin series, placing him firmly in the mix for representative selection behind incumbent halves Cameron Munster and Daly Cherry-Evans. The next order of business at Red Hill will be ensuring whiz kid Reece Walsh is also part of the club's future, with the superstar fullback available to negotiate with rival clubs on November 1 this year.
