There have been many success stories at the Dolphins this season - none more so than Kodi Nikorima.In and out of first grade in recent season, Nikorima was signed by Bennett's boys almost as an afterthought.Sean O'Sullivan was designated for the playmaking role but when he went down injured a few weeks ago, the spotlight fell upon the 29-year-old journeyman, currently at his fourth club.Nikorima was dynamic in the Dolphins' stunning 36-16 win over the Sharks on Saturday night, producing two try assists and making three line break assists.He's playing the best football of his nine-year NRL career - a testament to Bennett's magnificent man-management skills.

Dolphins land former Broncos playmaker

The Dolphins have secured another international for their debut season, signing Kodi Nikorima on a two-year deal.The 28-year-old has provided a real spark for the Rabbitohs in recent weeks, after joining in a mid-year switch from the Warriors."We are pleased to be able to provide the opportunity for Kodi and his young family to return to Queensland," Dolphins CEO Terry Reader said."Kodi is yet another example of one of the reasons the Dolphins were brought into the competition – to allow local Queensland players to play NRL in the areas they were developed.Interestingly, a club statement said Nikorima would provide competition with Jeremy Marshall-King and Harrison Graham for the No.9 jersey, despite the former Bronco having played most of his NRL career in the halves."We know he is a very dangerous player as a hooker who can also provide cover for other positions across the backline," Reader said."Kodi has more than 150 NRL games to his name as well as playing Tests for New Zealand and importantly has a history of performing under our head coach Wayne Bennett."

Playmaker Kodi Nikorima joins South Sydney immediately from Warriors

The Warriors have let Kodi Nikorima join South Sydney for the remainder of the 2022 season.The playmaker will leave his playing contract with the Kiwi club immediately and will have a player option with the Rabbitohs for 2023.South Sydney head of football, Mark Ellison says Nikorima will give the team more options and depth in the backline."Kodi has been a strong performer at NRL and international level for a number of seasons now, across many positions including all of the key spine positions," Ellison said."He will add depth to our side across many facets of the game and we feel he can bring another dimension to our attack as well as strength to our defence when he is on the field."His experience will also be valuable to many of the young players we have in our squad. We look forward to seeing Kodi in our cardinal and myrtle jersey this season."Nikorima, 28, has played 145 NRL matches for the Warriors and Broncos since making his debut for Brisbane in 2015.
