Raiders land major pre-finals boost with big signing

Canberra has scored a pre-finals boost with representative star Hudson Young committing long-term.The 25-year-old backrower has signed a fresh three-year contract which ties him to the Australian capital until the end of 2027."This club means everything to me and my family and it's been home for me since 2017 and I'm really excited to extend my stay," Young said."My partner and I are really settled here and I'm happy off the field and on the field, and I'm really excited about the squad we're building."I feel like we've got really good juniors coming through. I feel like we're building something really special and that's something I want to be a part of."I've worked really close with (coach) Ricky (Stuart) and the coaches and the biggest goal is to win a premiership here at the Raiders."Young made his NRL debut in 2019 but didn't feature in the team that lost the grand final that year.He has since become one of the best backrowers in the NRL, and this year made his State of Origin debut for the Blues.The Raiders take on Newcastle on Sunday in a do-or-die final.
