Cowboys youngster's perfect performance

In the long history of the now defunct Rugby League Week magazine, just one five-eighth was awarded the coveted perfect 10-point rating. That man was Norths' favourite Greg Florimo, who achieved the feat in the local derby against arch rivals Manly in 1997.But had RLW still been alive today, Tom Dearden would almost certainly have been the second pivot to get the perfect 10.I was a judge for RLW for many years and would have given Dearden maximum points after he destroyed the hapless Tigers in Townsville on Saturday night. The snowy-haired five-eighth was involved in at least six tries, scored one himself and ran for nearly 200 metres.Dearden did fumble the ball once while attempting to play it, but we can forgive him that minor error for such a stunning display — 26 years and two days after 'Flo' got the only perfect '10' for the Bears.
