Eels grand final centre Waqa Blake could be the next player to make the move to rugby union.A few weeks ago Wide World of Sports reported that Blake is in danger of being squeezed out of Parramatta by salary cap pressure. He is coming off contract at season's end and rival clubs are keen, but Blake may join the Western Force in Super Rugby for personal reasons. His young kids now live in Perth and I'm being told that he wants to be closer to them. With no professional league team based in Perth, rugby union shapes as his best option. The Force would pay good money for a player of Blake's class and the Eels would not stand in his way.The Eels have spent much of their salary cap re-signing and upgrading members of their current squad.Fijian-born Blake began his NRL career with the Panthers in 2015 but has been with the the Eels since midway through 2019, playing in last year's grand final.
