Raiders forward Corey Harawira-Naera admits new approach needed in 2023

Raiders strike forward Corey Harawira-Naera has won back a spot in the starting 13 for round one of the NRL season - but admits he needs to lift his form to keep it.A real attacking juggernaut capable of breaking the line on his day, Harawira-Naera has been selected at lock for the trip to the Cowboys on Saturday night. However, the Kiwi forward concedes some of his performances in 2022 were below par, resulting in him starting games on the bench."I was pretty up and down last year and wasn't real happy with my form or consistency," Harawira -Naera told Wide World of Sports."I had probably my best off season since then and my first goal was to get back in the top 13."I've achieved that but now it's up to me to play the type of footy I know I can and keep the spot."There is a lot of competition for places down here (in Canberra) and I'm grateful for Ricky (Stuart) showing faith in me."I'm determined not to let the team down and playing the Cowboys up in Townsville first up is a tough assignment."We were poor in our last trial against the Tigers and all know we have to do better."
