Premiership star inks new Souths contract

Premiership-winning forward Tom Burgess has inked a one-year contract extension with South Sydney. The 30-year-old, who has played 211 matches for the Rabbitohs since his debut in 2013, will continue with the club until at least the end of 2024. "I'm over the moon to be extending my time with Souths," Burgess said. "It's a very special club and I'm honoured to wear the colours every day. "Souths has been a big part of my family since moving to Australia. I couldn't envisage myself playing for any other club in Australia. "This is a special place and we can certainly do some special things for our supporters in the next few years." "Tom has played at the highest levels in the NRL and for his country. He knows what it takes to win a premiership and he has played more games for South Sydney than any other prop-forward in our club's history.
