One of the scrappier games of the weekend, but that can largely be put down to the stifling heat at Penrith on Saturday evening. The Eels had more experience in their side but Ivan Cleary used the game to showcase his young talent - and the Panther cubs didn't disappoint. The game was largely a tale of four hookers - Penrith youngsters Luke Sommerton and Connor Mason, aged 22 and 20 respectively, were superb.Veterans Josh Hodgson and Mitch Rein struggled for the Eels, the former making some crucial errors and the latter suffering a head knock. The Panthers backline oozed pace, with centre Tom Jenkins looking a real speedster, motoring 95 metres for an intercept try from a Hodgson pass.Jesse McLean, an Australian Schoolboy last year - also showed a fine turn of speed.Mav Geyer - son of club legend Mark - made a cameo appearance for the Panthers and produced a wonderful offload for a try to Logan Dickson.Former Tigers centre Zac Cini, in his second year at Parra, was their most dangerous player, scoring a solo try and asking questions of the defence.Big Wiremu Greig was solid for Parra up front and centre Samuel Loizou also did some nice things.
