Few teams made a bigger statement on the opening weekend of the year than the Warriors, who demolished a supposedly promising Tigers side.The Warriors were particularly impressive out wide, with centre Viliami Vailea and winger Marcelo Montoya both scoring three tries.Young recruit Luke Metcalf, who looked a prospect in cameo apperances at Cronulla last season, was outstanding at five-eighth, making a real statement to new coach Andrew Webster.Up front, props Solomon Vasuvulagi and Tom Ale were all power and purpose.The young Tigers had little to enthuse about… prop Stefano Utoikamanu was a class above his team-mates and was rewarded with a barnstorming try.Rugby union convert Tristan Reilly had some good touches at five-eighth and Jahream Bula looked promising at fullback.
