Papenhuyzen gets confidence from NRL start

Melbourne fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen admits he has to live with teams testing his courage in the NRL. The Storm star started his first game on Thursday night since the serious concussion in Magic Round which kept him sidelined for several weeks of the premiers' campaign. Papenhuyzen was one of the Storm's best in a 34-20 win over Gold Coast that extended Melbourne's winning run to a record-equalling 19 straight victories. The 23-year-old picked up 130 running metres, a try assist and two linebreak assists as Melbourne matched the Sydney Roosters' premiership-winning team of 1975's all-time winning streak. After a couple of penalties for high contact against the Titans on Papenhuyzen, the Storm fullback admitted it felt like he was being tested by his opponents at times. The Storm have taken a cautious approach throughout Papenhuyzen's return to the game, refusing to rush him back into the line-up and restricting the representative star to limited minutes off the bench before Thursday's match. Having completed a full 80 minutes back in the No.1 jersey, last year's Clive Churchill Medallist is now focusing on taking a no-fear approach as the Storm chase back-to-back premierships.
