Des Hasler has backed Reuben Garrick to cover for Manly at fullback as the Sea Eagles prepare for a likely two-week stint without superstar Tom Trbojevic. The Sea Eagles' record without Trbojevic has been well documented, having won just 10 of their past 35 games in his absence. Both Garrick and the Sea Eagles are adamant they have discovered a different game plan to compensate for Trbojevic's missing influence. Manly will be without both Daly Cherry-Evans and Trbojevic on Thursday night against Canberra. Trbojevic will likely be rested against St George Illawarra on Friday week after Origin III. But Hasler expects Garrick to inject himself into the game while playing as a fullback. "Obviously Rueben still has that ability, he has that fitness and has that ability to turn up at different parts of the field," Hasler said. "Which is required of one to do these days "You just want to see how much that individual has grown and how confident he has become in that position."
