Tom Trbojevic's heartbreaking reveal after Manly Sea Eagles rocked by devastating tragedy

The Manly Sea Eagles will dedicate Sunday's NRL home game against Canberra to the memory of 12-year-old super-fan Beau Hewitt, whose tragic death this week has rocked the club and local community. And star fullback Tom Trbojevic - who has been ruled out of the Raiders clash with a hamstring injury - admits the youngster's passing has hit him hard, after revealing details of a text message from Hewitt just before his death. Hewitt died from Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin lymphoma on Tuesday, sparking a flood of tributes for the 12-year-old and an outpouring of support to his family from around the league world. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the parents and family of Beau Hewitt - who has sadly passed away,” the Sea Eagles wrote in a sombre statement on Thursday. “A beautiful and brave young boy who loved life, loved his footy, and loved his Sea Eagles. Rest in peace little champion." Manly's players will wear black armbands during the round three clash against Canberra at their 4 Pines Park home ground on Sunday evening, and Manly CEO Tony Mestrov says the team will do everything in their power to honour Hewitt's memory appropriately. The youngster was a Manly tragic and struck up a close bond with several players. His family even had superstar fullback Trbojevic's phone number after numerous visits in hospital and at their home from the Manly No.1, as well as his brothers Jake and Ben. 'Turbo' once famously dedicated a 'thumbs up' try celebration to Hewitt but revealed details of a recent text from the youngster that left him in tears. Turbo says he'd been informed by Hewitt's family around six weeks ago that he didn't have much longer to live and was "rattled" when the 12-year-old's mum Belinda messaged on his behalf to ask about his hamstring injury over the weekend. The Manly fullback was so moved by the gesture that he broke down after reading it, as the devastating reality of the situation sunk in.
