Bolter emerges for eels

The Eels had plenty of positives in the 44-18 win at Newcastle on Friday night - but they found a player NRL-ready in the centres as a bonus. Jordan Samrani, a 21-year-old off-season recruit from the Bulldogs, ran for 200 metres and scored a try in an impressive display. The youngster showed why he is in the Eels' top 30 with a powerhouse performance, causing the fragile Knights defence all sorts of problems out wide. Born in Redcliffe in Queensland, Samrani has moved around - he played in the juniors at the Sharks before moving to the Bulldogs. A member of the NSWRL Future Blues a couple of seasons ago, he is big enough to also play second row and his efforts at the Knights had Eels officials convinced they have a player of rare promise.
