Panthers set to hand lifeline for Turuva replacement

Speedy winger Tom Jenkins could be headed back to Penrith as a replacement for Tigers-bound flyer Sunia Turuva. Originally from the Riverina, Jenkins made his NRL debut for the Panthers in 2022 and looked the goods, scoring five tries in six appearances. That earned him a two-year contract with the Knights last year but the move didn't work out and the 23-year-old managed just five games before being granted a release for 2025. Jenkins has been linked to the Panthers and would be a handy replacement for Turuva, who won two grand finals with the club before accepting a rich deal to join the Tigers this year. It is believed he is set to join Panthers junior club St Mary's and try to work his way back into the NRL via the Ron Massey Cup and NSW Cup. A player with plenty of speed and evasive skills, Jenkins could find himself back among the tries if he gets a chance.
