Brother of Knights superstar signs with rival club

Brisbane has signed the younger brother of Knights colossus Bradman Best on a four-year deal. Baxter Best, aged 16, is rated one of the most promising young players in Queensland and was chased by several clubs. But the burly outside back, who plays a similar game to his superstar big brother, opted to sign with the Broncos. And what's more, he qualifies as a Maroon should he get to State of Origin level - despite the fact that Bradman is a Blue - as his family moved to Queensland a couple of years ago. Baxter will play for the Souths Logan Magpies under 17s this coming season - against youngsters a year older than him. A standout in last year's Queensland's under 15s schoolboys team, he has always been wowing them in the Cyril Connell Cup. "Baxter plays the game in a very similar mould to Bradman - he will go a long way in this game," a Souths Logan source told Wide World of Sports. "We are glad he is with our club. He has speed, size and the right attitude - the Broncos have got themselves a fine prospect."
