Yet another member of rugby league's famous Hopoate family is set to make her name in the game next season. Liesl Hopoate has quit Manly and signed with the Illawarra Steelers in the Tarsha Gale Cup for 2025. An Australian Secondary School representative this year, 17-year-old Liesl was in hot demand for next season and Manly aren't happy at losing the promising local junior. The daughter of famous bad boy John Hopate and younger sister of Albert, Lehi and Will, Liesl is a talented utility who has set her sights on playing in the NRLW.
