The Wests Tigers rebuild has added another piece, with gun Sharks front-rower Royce Hunt signing with the Concord club on a three-year deal. The Hunt deal has been in the works for several weeks and it was sealed on Tuesday morning, with the Tigers announcing the move in a statement. "Royce is a great leader who will be invaluable in assisting us with the development of the younger players at the club," Tigers coach Benji Marshall said. "He's a tough and uncompromising middle, and more importantly, he's a good human. "We look forward to welcoming Royce and his family to our club." Hunt has become a key member of the Sharks' forward pack under Craig Fitzgibbon and will play an important part in their finals run which starts next week. The Sharks will finish in the top four and can qualify for the playoffs as high as second on the ladder depending on round 27 results. Hunt adds starch and ball running power to a pack that has become a focus for the Tigers' rebuild after settling on a new-look spine that is likely to comprise of Jahream Bula (fullback), Lachlan Galvin (five-eighth), Jarome Luai (halfback), and Api Koroisau (hooker) in 2025. Hunt will likely be looked upon to lead a front row rotation that has lost Stefano Utoikamanu to the Melbourne Storm. As well as Luai and Hunt, the Tigers will also gain outside backs Sunia Turuva (Panthers) and Jeral Skelton (Bulldogs) in 2025, adding significant firepower to a developing squad.
