Hunt lifts lid on Flanagan anger

Dragons captain Ben Hunt has revealed the brutal conversations had between teammates after the side's heavy 38-0 loss to the Dolphins. The Red V was the surprise packet of round one when they defeated the Titans 28-4 on the Gold Coast. However, round two was a wake-up call for the side as Shane Flanagan suffered his first official loss as coach of the Dragons. "There was a lot of guys I guess you could say, got called out and got a few truths they didn't want to hear and things like that," he said. "That's what you need in a good footy side, you need some guys that are open and willing to call teammates out and can be honest with each other and sort things out. "We've got a lot of things we need to clean up both sides of the ball. We made way too many errors ... defensively we were too lose in the ruck and let them down the field too much." "I probably wouldn't say calling each other out but helping your teammates is probably a better way of putting it," he said. However, the 58-year-old's attitude was significantly different after round two, as revealed by Hunt. "He was obviously pretty cranky, we didn't get a massive spray or anything like that, it was more just a disappointed dad speech, we knew we were wrong and stuffed up," he said.
