Manly Sea Eagles coach Anthony Seibold has dispelled rumours that second-rower Josh Schuster is not fit to play in the NRL season opener in Las Vegas. According to a report from The Sydney Morning Herald, the 22-year-old may be unable to make the trip to the States having not trained with Manly for the past eight weeks. Schuster was struck down with chickenpox before the Christmas break before suffering a broken finger which required surgery last month. A fresh calf strain has also limited Schuster's ability to train with the main group. Seibold claimed Schuster's circumstances had "been misrepresented in the media". "Josh had a fantastic pre-Christmas period," he said. Schuster and a couple of our staff members got chickenpox ... in the last week before Christmas so that hurt Josh's last week of training. "He did have a bit of a hiccup on Monday, his calf tightened up, but we expect him to play in our second trial, the first NRL pre-season game against the Roosters in a couple of weeks time. "So, he's working towards being in that group that goes over to Vegas."
