Struggling Roosters plot to cut Suaalii loose

The Sydney Roosters are hoping the Wallabies continue to struggle on the international stage in coming weeks. Why? Because the under-performing club is banking on the Australian Rugby Union getting desperate and requesting Joseph Suaalii to be released in time for the Rugby World Cup in September. The Wallabies are reeling from consecutive losses to South Africa and Argentina in the past two weeks and face the mighty All Blacks in two Tests shortly.Heavy losses in those two games would put the Wallabies in panic mode leading into the World Cup, with Suaalii a potential saviour. The powerful outside back has already signed a massive deal to switch codes, but not until his Roosters contract finishes at the end of ther 2024 season. The Roosters would be more than happy to let Suaalii go at the end of this season in time for the World Cup. They privately believe the big dollars they spent on Suaalii would be better spent re-building their ageing forward pack or finding a quality halfback. The Roosters have struggled all season on the field and are in real danger of missing the finals for only the second time in the past decade.
