Dragons To Lose Another Star

Papua New Guinea skipper Elsie Albert is considering leaving the Dragons for one of the NRLW's new teams, Parramatta. The Eels have already signed up one Dragons star, the highly rated Rachel Pearson, and have now set their sights on Albert.A tough front-rower who is well respected throughout the NRLW, Albert played for the Dragons in the delayed 2021 grand final last April.Albert is a rugby league trailblazer - in 2020 she became the first homegrown Papua New Guinean woman to play in the NRLW when she signed with the Dragons and the 26-year-old has been one of the team's mainstays. The Dragons have been raided by poachers from the four new teams leading up to the new season, that kicks off in July, after their success last season. But coach Jamie Soward remains confident of fielding a competitive team.
