Andrew Johns predicts Roosters will select Joseph Suaalii over James Tedesco

Legendary rugby league player Andrew Johns has predicted that the Sydney Roosters will choose to retain young talent Joseph Suaalii over current captain James Tedesco when both become free agents in November. Suaalii recently re-signed with the Roosters on a contract that expires at the same time as Tedesco's.Suaalii has expressed a desire to play fullback, a position currently occupied by Tedesco, and Johns believes that the young player's patience will run out by the time he negotiates a deal for 2025 and beyond. While Johns would personally keep Tedesco on the team for some time, he recognizes that top teams make tough decisions about player management.

According to Johns, if the Roosters do choose to move on from Tedesco, there will be no shortage of suitors for the talented player. However, Johns suggests that Tedesco may prefer to remain in Sydney, where he is well-established, and could potentially return to his former team, the Wests Tigers. Johns believes that Tedesco can continue to play at a high level well into his mid-thirties, due in part to the time he missed earlier in his career due to injury.
