Former New Zealand under 18 hooker Vaka Sikahele's career was in doubt when he badly tore his Achilles early last year. The fullback-turned-hooker made a tentative comeback late in the season for Burleigh Bears and showed enough to win a train and trial contract with the Titans. The speedy No.9 didn't get a lot of game time in last weekend's trial against the Broncos - but the 21-year-old Kiwi made the most of it. Sikahele scored an eye-catching 50-metre solo try and it will be surprising if the Titans don't sign him up in coming days.
