Gould on verge of poaching another Panthers star

Phil Gould is on the verge of poaching another Penrith premiership star to add to his Canterbury kennel. Gould confirmed to the Sydney Morning Herald he has put a formal offer to gun centre Stephen Crichton, who earlier this week informed the Panthers he would leave after the 2023 season. Crichton, 22, has already played 76 NRL games and has won the last two premierships with Penrith. He has also represented Samoa six times, and is considered a future NSW Blues player in State of Origin.  "I hope it happens. We sent his management an official offer yesterday," Gould told the Herald. "There's no confirmation from them at this time. "Stephen is a quality young man and a super player who is only just getting started with his football career. Stephen would be an asset to any club."
