Brisbane have bolstered their forward stocks by inking veteran Martin Taupau to a one-year deal, with coach Kevin Walters praising the 32-year-old's presence and experience.Taupau was without a club after he left the Sea Eagles at the end of the 2022 season, but has secured a chance at Red Hill to continue his fine NRL career."Marty has been playing in the NRL since 2010 so he brings good experience and he was very impressive when we spoke to him on the values he brings to our club," Walters said.Several clubs were interested in the front rower but uncertainty regarding the salary cap left him in limbo - but despite that situation still being far from resolved, he's managed to secure his future for the next 12 months. The hard-running forward debuted for the Bulldogs all the way back in 2010, before spending two years at the Wests Tigers in 2014 and 2015, and then the past seven seasons at Brookvale.Walters said he was pleased that Taupau could come in and provide guidance for what is a talented, but young, forward pack."We have a lot of good young middle forwards here at the Broncos and we believe the experience that Marty brings will help them grow and be better players for us as well," Walters said.
