Steelers legend Michael Bolt has slammed proposed moves by the Dragons to ditch the Illawarra moniker from the joint venture's name.St George Illawarra has canvassed members about changing the name to the St George Dragons - and fans in Wollongong are hopping mad."It just seems a case of jealousy and sour grapes," said Bolt, an Illawarra Steelers star of the 1980s."The players almost all live down here (in the Illawarra), they train down here, the new $50 million centre of excellence is down here and it seems the people back up at St George aren't happy."But I can tell you one thing, they take the name 'Illawarra' out of the title and there will be no more joint venture."The fans in Wollongong won't stand for it."We have felt short-changed for much of the life of the merger anyway and they will want to be very careful what they do."Club members this week received a wide-ranging survey which included the possibility of a potential name or logo change.Fans were asked "which naming convention should the St George Illawarra Dragons use as their formal identity".Options included: St George Dragons, Southern Dragons, Greater Sydney Dragons, The Dragons, or St George Illawarra Dragons.
