The Dolphins have signed a big, young middle forward from New Zealand as part of their five-year plan. Elijah Rasmussen was born in England but moved to Auckland as a youngster, playing for Westlake Boys High School in recent seasons. The 17-year-old also made his mark in rugby union, winning selection in the Auckland Blues under-18 development squad. He represented the Maoris at under-18 level this year before deciding to concentrate on league, and was picked out by Dolphins scouts. He'll play colts and Queensland Cup in 2023 before hopefully moving into the Dolphins' full-time squad as he develops.
