South Sydney coach Jason Demetriou denied there were big concerns about the Rabbitohs' campaign as they lost their fifth game of the season - but he slammed their performance against Brisbane. "I just don't think we were really here to win the game... that's as disappointing a half of footy in that second half as we've had all season," he said after the Rabbitohs' shock 32-12 loss. "Our effort areas were pretty ordinary." "It's an area we need to look at for sure," he said of their glut of play-the-balls in great field position. "We probably left three tries out there in the first half... there's no doubt we created opportunities in the first half but the longer the game went, the scoreboard pressure was on us and that affects how you attack." "He was good, he was allowed to be - he got to kick the ball on the front foot all the time, didn't get a lot of pressure on him." Captain Cameron Murray added that Reynolds was always going up for the revenge game. "We didn't have any answers," he said. The Rabbitohs are now sitting at four wins and five losses and their red-hot 2021 attack has failed to click for more than a few minutes of any contest this year. "We gifted them 18 points by not defending kicks or intercept tries," he said. The Bunnies will get a chance to bounce back next week at Magic Round, against the Warriors.
