The Roosters have extended the contract of coach Trent Robinson by a whopping five years. Robinson was signed to the end of season 2023, but the new deal ties him to the Bondi club until the end of 2028. Robinson is already the longest serving coach in Roosters history, having taken the reins from Brian Smith in 2013. In his nine years at the Chooks, Robinson has led the team to three premierships. He has only missed the NRL finals in 2016. "In my view, Trent is the game's best thinker. He is a man of high integrity with a genuine love for his players, the history of our club and the area we represent," club chairman Nick Politis said. "Every player that we have signed since Trent came on board as head coach in 2013 has become a better player and person, and it's wonderful to know that Trent will continue to lead the way at the Roosters well-into the future." Robinson was rapt to be offered the long extension. "The Roosters is in my DNA, and as a leader, my role here is pretty clear," he said.
