NRL in danger of losing Angus Crichton to rugby in pre-World Cup raid

Angus Crichton - arguably the form second-rower in the NRL - is in danger of being poached by rugby union. Crichton played the 15-a-side game throughout his schoolboy career and I'm hearing the rah-rahs have an eye to signing him as a strike forward coming up to the 2023 World Cup in France. Earlier this year, Crichton signed an extension to his current deal at the Roosters. But curiously, he only put pen to paper for 12 months, meaning he comes off contract at the end of next season. The Roosters are desperate to keep the 25-year-old but with the NRL pulling out of this year's World Cup, the lure of playing for his country may prove too strong for Crichton. A former Australian Schoolboys rugby union representative, Crichton has played 10 Origins for NSW but has yet to become a Kangaroo.
