Craig Bellamy admits the gravity of it may be lost on his Melbourne players, but not the coach, as they edge closer to equalling the feats of the mighty 1975 Roosters team. The Storm did enough in a 26-16 defeat of Canberra on Thursday to notch an 18th-straight NRL victory. Bellamy has fond memories of the side that lost just three of 25 games on the way to the 1975 premiership and midweek Amco Cup. "I can remember the Roosters' '75 side and what a great side they were," he said. "So for me it'd be fairly special, a nice milestone, but I don't do a whole heap, I sit up in the box and watch. "It's a thing we haven't taken a whole heap of notice of, I'm not sure how big of a thing it is for the players but in 20 years' time it might be." "They put us off our game a bit, started doing a few things we don't usually do and don't work for us," Bellamy said. "We just lost the plot there for that first 20 minutes ... and it was hard to get momentum back so we were just hanging on. "We're not playing that well but we're still winning games, still finding a way ... I'm fairly happy with where we're at."
