Depleted Dragons need more from stars

The end of State of Origin marks the start of a dash to the NRL finals and St George Illawarra coach Anthony Griffin backs his senior players to meet the challenge. After a tumultuous few weeks including the sacking of Paul Vaughan and the relocation to Queensland, the Dragons need stability now more than ever. "Origin is over now and at this stage of the season the intensity and the speed of the season and the purpose everyone plays with picks up. It's sort of like the sprint in the marathon now, the next six to eight weeks," Griffin said ahead of Friday's clash with Manly. "The next three or four weeks we have got some challenges without being able to put our best side out every week but we are confident in the depth and quality of the people we have in the club and we will be able to maintain our spot there over the next month."
