Titans no closer to making call on Taylor

Injured Gold Coast half Ash Taylor is inching closer to an NRL return but the clock is still ticking on his future at the club beyond this season. As the days edge closer towards the end of his multi-million dollar contact with the Titans, which expires in November, the club maintains they have made no decision on his future. And nor will they until he is not only able to return to the field, but play well enough to earn a new deal. "He's not far now ... he's just got to get a week or two of full training without picking up any other knocks," Holbrook said. "He's picking up other knocks as well as having his hip issues as well which is a bad combination." When asked if a decision has been made on Taylor's future, Holbrook said: "No, we haven't. "We've just got to try and get him fit, get him out on the field and that'll be in his own best interest once he's playing good footy. "He needs to be playing good for us and we'll look at it then."
