Tyrone Peachey hopes the ball-playing lock revolution can make him a more valuable NRL commodity, with the Gold Coast star uncertain of his future at the club. Peachey is off-contract at the end of this season but says he is yet to hear from the Titans on any deal for 2022 and beyond. The 29-year-old has enjoyed easily his best start to a campaign in Titans colours, finally finding a home in the No.13 jersey after years as a positional nomad. Peachey's shift to the middle has come as ball-playing locks have come to the fore amid the faster game, with the likes of Victor Radley, Isaah Yeo and Connor Watson all such examples. "It's not just three big middles playing now. You need that middle ball-player," Peachey told. "Hopefully every team needs one, I'm off contract. "The club haven't talked to me yet so I'm not sure where I stand. "I'm just going to try and concentrate on playing good footy and hopefully that sorts itself out." Peachey arrived at the Titans as a big-name recruit from Penrith and his priority is to stay there amid an ongoing roster overhaul at the club. "I'm trying to play good footy to show what I've got. Hopefully a team needs what I have," Peachey said. "I'd love to stay at the Titans but I understand with salary cap and all that. "I would love to stay, but if they can't have me there hopefully someone else picks me up." Peachey, meanwhile, isn't sold on playing exclusively as a lock long-term and says he can be "whatever any team needs".
