Trent Barrett fights back tears after 'emotional' win

Bulldogs coach Trent Barrett admitted he was left "emotional" after Canterbury survived a nerve-wracking final few minutes to secure their first win of the season with a victory over the Sharks. Barrett, who became Canterbury's head coach this season after departing Penrith, tonight helped restore some confidence in the playing group as the club notched their first win since September last year. The club also made history by becoming the first team to use the NRL's new 18th man rule when halfback Brandon Wakeham was brought on in the final minutes as a result of Matt Doorey being ruled out at half-time, due to an act of foul play that landed Siosifa Talaki in the sin bin. But all eyes after the match were on Barrett, with cameras capturing the moment the Bulldogs coach was left fighting back tears as the full-time siren sounded.
