Reynolds on verge of walking out on Souths

South Sydney halfback Adam Reynolds is on the verge of walking out on the club after the Rabbitohs refused to budge on their initial one-year contract extension. Reynolds, 30, has been at loggerheads with the Rabbitohs over the length of a contract extension, with the veteran looking for a multi-year contract to remain at Redfern. The club today maintained its hard stance by only offering the 2014 premiership winner just a one-year deal, which could now force Reynolds to walk out on the club according to a Sydney Morning Herald report. It's understood Reynolds has dropped his demands from a three-year deal to a two-year deal, but with the club refusing to budge following a meeting held yesterday, the playmaker could now test his value on the open market. The report states the Rabbitohs have reiterated to Reynolds' management that they can revisit another extension in 12 months' time, and even move players on if necessary. However, the club is wary that it could potentially cripple its salary cap if they offer a long-term deal now and things don't work out.
