St George Illawarra's Jordan Pereira faces up to five NRL games on the sidelines after being charged for the tackle that knocked out James Tedesco. Pereira was on Monday issued with a grade-three careless high tackle charge over the incident, that left Tedesco unable to return in the Anzac Day match. The Dragons winger can accept a three-game suspension out with an early guilty plea, with prior offences not helping his cause. Fellow Dragons winger Mikaele Ravalawa is also staring down the barrel of up to three games out for a shoulder charge on Josh Morris. He can have that ban lowered to two games if he pleads guilty. Regardless though, Pereira's charge will prompt further debate over perceived inconsistencies between the in-game officials and match review committee. Pereira's charge is the same as the one handed to Canterbury's Jack Hetherington last week, but the Bulldogs forward was sent off for his high tackle. Pereira, however, was only sent to the sin bin despite Tedesco's injury, leaving Sydney Roosters coach Trent Robinson certain more of a statement needed to be made on field.
